Fontana di Trevi - White Chalcedony and Paraiba Tourmaline and Diamond Earrings
Description & Details
The collection FONTANA di TREVI pays homage to the legendary architecture of the Trevi-Fountain and the eternal City of Rome. In this collection, THIALH combines baroque design with modern hand-carved geometric shapes. In keeping with THILAH´s high standards, the ornamental stones that adorn the creations have been selected among the finest materials. Like the fountain itself, the jewels conjure up the wonders of the fountain in the wearer to make her inner wishes come true.
The name chalcedony comes from the Greek khalkedon, referring to the city of Chalcedon in modern-day Turkey. It stands out for its colour, prized by stone carvers, ranging from grey to deep blue, lavender, and sometimes exhibiting white banding.
Hidden for many years beneath hills in the Brazilian state of Paraiba, and only discovered in the 1980s, within just a few decades it had become the world’s most prized tourmaline. This unique stone, found only on Brazil’s tropical coastline, has a vividness and intensity of colour unequalled by any other gem in the world.
This stunning pair of earrings is made of 18K white gold, paraiba tourmaline, white chalcedony and brilliant-cut white diamonds. Each piece is hand-selected by a THIALH family member and expertly matched for size, colour, clarity and brilliance.
